Moscow (VNA) – The Vietnamese Embassy in Russia on June 7 launched a programme to raise funds for Vietnam's national COVID-19 vaccine fund in response to the call of the President, the Prime Minister, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Addressing the event, Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi briefed participants on the COVID-19 situation in the homeland, affirming that Vietnam is determined to prevent and repel the pandemic as soon as possible in parallel with promoting socio-economic development.

According to the diplomat, Vietnam is applying the principle of "5K plus vaccine”, and prioritising resources to have enough vaccines for people.

He thanked satff of Vietnamese agencies and the Vietnamese community in Russia for their efforts and contributions to the fight against  COVID-19 in the homeland, expressing his belief that the fund will receive more donations in the coming time.

According to Do Xuan Hoang, President of the Vietnamese Association in Russia, the organisation will carry out another programme with a website to raise funds./.
