There were 950 cyberattacks on Vietnam’s information system in January, a decline of 33% and 23% compared with that of December 2023 and the same period last year, respectively.
Vietnam was hit by 988 cyberattacks in the first nine months of this year, according to the National Cyber Security Centre under the Ministry of Information and Communications.
As many as 498 cyberattacks targeting information networks in Vietnam were recorded and handled in April, down 5.1% from March and 46.9% compared to the same period last year, according to the Authority of Information Security under the Ministry of Information and Communications.
Information security experts from ASEAN member states and the five dialogue countries of India, the Republic of Korea (RoK), Japan, China and Australia participated in the 2023 ASEAN Computer Emergency Response Team (CERTS) Incident Drills (ACID) on October 18.
There were some 13,900 cyberattacks in Vietnam in 2023, a year-on-year increase of 9.5%, according to a report announced by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) on December 12.
