Vietnamese swimmer wins gold in US

Vietnam's top swimmer Nguyen Thi Anh Vien won a gold medal at the NASA Junior Championship Cup in Florida , US, on March 28.

The 17-year-old overcame Lisa Bratton of St Augustine in the women's 200m medley in a time of 1:58.10.

At the recent Florida Swimming Spring Senior Championships, she bagged four gold and two silver medals.

The Can Tho-born swimmer is getting intensive training in the US in preparation for the 17th Asian Games in the Republic of Korea this September, where she is expected to add to her medal collection.-VNA
