Phnom Penh (VNA) – Metfone, the Cambodian arm of the military-run telecommunication group Viettel, presented 150 gifts to needy Vietnamese expatriates in Phnom Penh on January 24.
The subsidiary has plans to deliver a total of 600 gifts to disadvantaged overseas Vietnamese in seven Cambodian provinces and cities.
The donation was Metfone’s response to a campaign of the Vietnamese Embassy and Vietnamese businesses operating in Cambodia to help poor Vietnamese expatriate enjoy the traditional lunar New Year festival (Tet).
Previously, the Vietnam Embassy and the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development in Cambodia sent 200 gifts to needy Vietnamese households in Kandal province’s Kien Svay district.-VNA
