The first products of a project to cast 1,000 bronze dragon statues to celebrate the 1,000 th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi was introduced in Hanoi on June 30.

The Dong Son Fine Arts Joint Stock Company started the project in March 2010. The dragons, each weighs between 3-3.5 kg, will be numbered and come with a certificate of origin and the official logo of the grand celebrations of the 1,000 th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi. The dragon design, modelled on the typical style of the Ly dynasty, has been registered by the company for copyright.

The dragons numbered 001 and 1,000 will be auctioned to raise funds for the Thang Long Culture Fund, which will be used to restore the city’s non-intangible cultural heritages.

Other dragons will be sold as souvenirs at the website http://www.rongthanglong.vn./.
