100th founding anniversary of Czechoslovakia marked in Hanoi

The Vietnam-Czech Friendship Association and the Vietnam-Slovakia Friendship Association jointly organised a get-together in Hanoi on October 20 to celebrate the 100th founding anniversary of Czechoslovakia (1918-2018).
Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnam-CzechFriendship Association and the Vietnam-Slovakia Friendship Association jointlyorganised a get-together in Hanoi on October 20 to celebrate the 100th founding anniversary of Czechoslovakia (1918-2018).

Speaking at the event, President of the Vietnam-Slovakia Friendship AssociationDoan Duy Khuong said after a century, Czechoslovakia now becomes theCzech Republic and Slovakia, two important members of the European community,with strong economic development.

Both the Czech Republic and Slovakia have fine relations with Vietnam, he noted,adding that bilateral ties between Vietnam and the two countries have developednot only in economy but also in other fields such as socio-culture andpeople-to-people exchange.

The Vietnamese communities in the Czech Republic and Slovakia consider thecountries their second homeland and serve as important factors for sustainableand comprehensive relations between Vietnam and the two European nations,Khuong said.

Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Vietnam Vitezslav Grepl stressed that thefriendship between Vietnam and Czechoslovakia (now the Czech Republic andSlovakia) has been based on mutual trust and support thanks to Vietnamesepeople who have ever lived and studied in the two countries. They act as bridges tofoster the solidarity and friendship among the three nations.

The diplomat expressed his belief that the relationship between Vietnam and theCzech Republic will further develop in all fields.

Meanwhile, Charge’ d’Affaires of the Embassy of Slovakia in Vietnam IvanaBaclakova, highlighted the Vietnamese people’s warm sentiments toward Czechoslovakia(now the Czech Republic and Slovakia) despite a century has elapsed. She saidshe believes that young Vietnamese generations will join their Czech andSlovakian peers to continue the tradition of solidarity and further develop thefriendship between Vietnam and the two European countries.

At the get-together, participants recalled their memories of Czechoslovakia andupdated information on the Czech Republic and Slovakia today. They also had achance to enjoy traditional folk songs and special dishes of Czechoslovakia.-VNA

Vinh Phuc urged to take more drastic actions for stronger growth

Vinh Phuc's GRDP growth for 2021–2025 is projected at 7.4%, with total economic output expected to reach 190 trillion VND (7.45 billion USD) by 2025, 1.53 times higher than in 2020. National conference on provincial mergers scheduled

Currently, Vietnam has 10,035 commune-level administrative units, which will be consolidated into approximately 2,000 larger communes, each operating similarly to a small district. This restructuring is expected to begin immediately after the Party Central Committee's April meeting.

PM sets higher requirements for 500 kV Lao Cai – Vinh Yen transmission line project

The 500 kV Lao Cai – Vinh Yen transmission line is a strategic national infrastructure project approved by the Government, with Vietnam Electricity (EVN) as the investor. The double-circuit transmission line will span 229.5 kilometers, with 468 tower foundations across the four northern provinces of Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Phu Tho, and Vinh Phuc. The total investment for the project is over 7.41 trillion VND (290.41 million USD).
