Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has approved a list of 11 provinces which will take part in the first phase of an urban water supply and drainage project funded by the World Bank.
The provinces include Quang Ninh and Ninh Binh in the north, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Quang Nam, Quang Tri, Lam Dong and Dak Lak in the central and Central Highlands regions, and Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc and Kien Giang in the south.
The first phase has a total investment of 200 million USD, of which 150 million USD will be sourced from the WB’s International Development Association (IDA) and the remaining will come from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD).
The PM also asked the Ministry of Planning and Investment to work with the WB on the second phase of the project, expected to be implemented in the fiscal year of 2013./.
