22 more recover from COVID-19

Twenty-two COVID-19 patients in Vietnam were declared on April 14 as having totally recovered from the disease, bringing the total of this group to 168, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

Hanoi (VNA) -Twenty-two COVID-19 patients in Vietnam were declared on April 14 as having totally recovered from the disease,bringing the total of this group to 168, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19Prevention and Control.

Seventeen patients at theHanoi-based National Hospital for Tropical Diseases were declared to have recovered,including 15 Vietnamese and two foreigners - a 69-year-old British man and a 60-year-oldFrench woman.

Meanwhile, the Cu Chi EmergencyHospital in HCM City announced that five more patients have recovered, includingtwo Vietnamese and three foreigners - a 51-year-old Brazilian man, a 58-year-oldSouth African woman, and a 25-year-old British man.

These patients have tested negativefor the third time, are in a stable condition, and exhibited no symptoms like coughingor fever.

All are eligible to beofficially recognised as having recovered and will continue to be quarantined andmonitored for 14 days following their discharge from hospital./.

Sharp tobacco tax hike urged to safeguard youths, community health

A 2023 report by the Vietnam Health Economics Association estimated that the total cost of tobacco-related healthcare and economic losses reached 108 trillion VND (4.14 billion USD) annually – equivalent to 1.14% of GDP and five times higher than the budget revenue generated by the tobacco industry.

Vietnam, France collaborate in vaccine production technology transfer

Under the agreement, VNVC and Sanofi will gradually implement technology transfers to enable domestic production of several key Sanofi vaccines that are widely used in Vietnam. In addition, Sanofi will support VNVC in training human resources and quality management in vaccine research and manufacturing.
