The Second Vietnam-China border defence friendship exchange is being held in the northern mountainous province of Lao Cai and Yunnan province of China from May 15-18.
The Vietnamese delegation is led by Defence Minister General Phung Quang Thanh while Defence Minister Senior Lieutenant General Chang Wan Quan is heading the Chinese delegation.
The event is designed to consolidate friendship and solidarity between local governments, people and border security forces of the two countries.
A series of activities including workshops, bilateral patrols, an inaugural ceremony for a Vietnam-China Border Friendship Culture House in Na Loc hamlet in Muong Khuong district and a signing ceremony to twin the two countries’ localities are also held during the event.-VNA
