50th anniversary of Paris Peace Accords celebrated in France

The Vietnamese Embassy in France in coordination with Verrières-le-Buisson city on the outskirts of Paris organised an event on January 14 to celebrate the signing of the Paris Agreement on Ending the War and Restoring Peace in Vietnam (Paris Peace Accords) 50 years ago (January 27, 1973).

Paris (VNA) – The Vietnamese Embassy in Francein coordination with Verrières-le-Buisson city on the outskirts of Paris organisedan event on January 14 to celebrate the signing of the Paris Agreement onEnding the War and Restoring Peace in Vietnam (Paris Peace Accords) 50 yearsago (January 27, 1973).

Speaking at the function, Mayor François Guy Trébulle recalledthat the delegation of the Provisional Revolutionary Government of the Republicof South Vietnam stayed in Verrières-le-Buisson for the negotiations and the signingof the Paris Agreement.

The signing was a milestone in Vietnam’s history, andalso an important event for Verrières-le-Buisson, he affirmed.

In his remarks, Vietnamese Ambassador to France Dinh ToanThang spoke highly of the role of the French city, which, he said, alwaysshared values of peace and solidarity with the Southeast Asian nation.

French participants at the event expressed theirsentiments towards Vietnam, saying the country shined in the internationalarena with its victory during the past struggle for peace.

On this occasion, an exhibition introducing documentsof French and international press agencies was opened./.

Resettlement, site clearance for Ninh Thuan 1 nuclear plant gets underway

According to the Khanh Hoa provincial People’s Committee, the resettlement and site clearance project carries a total investment of about 6.7 trillion VND (about 255 million USD). Of the total, approximately 5.28 trillion VND is earmarked for compensation and site clearance, around 1.15 trillion VND for construction and equipment, and nearly 287 billion VND for project management, consultancy, other expenses and contingencies.

Sun PhuQuoc Airways to launch first international direct flight on March 29
