Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has decided to allocate 55 billion VND and 3,100 tonnes of rice free-of-charge to help four central provinces overcome the aftermaths of recent floods.
Of the relief aid, Thua Thien-Hue will receive 15 billion VND and 1,000 tonnes of rice; Quang Nam , 25 billion VND and 1,000 tonnes of rice; Quang Ngai, 5 billion and 100 tonnes of rice; and Binh Dinh, 10 billion VND and 1,000 tonnes of rice.
The Prime Minister assigned Chairpersons of the provincial People’s Committees of the targeted provinces to manage and allocate the money and rice to local people.
Previously, the Prime Minister also decided to provide 135 billion VND and allocate 3,600 tonnes of rice from national reserves to assist seven localities hardest hit by floods./.
