60-year Party membership badge presented to former Deputy PM

Hanoi (VNA) –Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh presented the 60-year Party membership badge to Vu Khoan, former Secretary of the Party Central Committee and former Deputy PrimeMinister, during a ceremony in Hanoi on November 17.

In his speech, the PM saidit is the Party’s noble distinction to honour Khoan’s contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party and nation.

According to the PM,during his working time at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Trade, Khoan was an excellent diplomat with strong mettle and a researcherwith insightful studies. Following retirement, he still offered suggestions andadvice to the Party and State.

Former Deputy PM Khoanspoke highly of achievements in the fight against COVID-19, social welfare,socio-economic development and diplomatic activities by the Party and Stateleaders.

He expressed his beliefthat the country will overcome difficulties and challenges and reap greatersuccesses. He vowed to do his best to make further contributions to the Party,country and people./.

Vietnam, Laos strengthen security cooperation

Key Vietnamese Party official lays wreaths at monuments in Phnom Penh

This is the first official visit to Cambodia by Tu in his capacity as Politburo member and Permanent member of the CPV Central Committee's Secretariat. The visit takes place at a time of significant political and cultural importance, as Cambodia is preparing to celebrate its traditional New Year festival, Chol Chhnam Thmey. It also follows Vietnam’s successful organisation of the 14th National Party Congress and the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels, as well as the consolidation of its leadership apparatus and rollout of new strategic orientations.
