9th Flood Season Festival held in Bung Binh Thien

The beginning of the flood season has been celebrated in a cultural festival in Bung Binh Thien, Nhon Hoi commune, in the southwestern province of An Giang.

The festival on August 30 is held every year to mark the beginning of the flood season and remind the locality to protect the environment and Bung Binh Thien’s biodiversity, including numerous endangered animal species.

Over 200 actors and musicians took part in the water performances, showcasing dances and songs depicting the region’s peaceful way of life during the flood season.

A variety of cultural activities were held throughout the festival, including an exhibition of artful fruit displays, dragon boat races and folk games, as well as restocking the lake with fish.

Bung Binh Thien is home to one of the largest freshwater lakes in the southwestern region of Vietnam .
