Activities to add to Da Nang’s lustre on National Day holiday

Tourists destinations in the central coastal city of Da Nang have prepared a kaleidoscope of fascinating activities to attract visitors during the National Day holiday from August 31 to September 3, according to the municipal Department of Tourism.

Da Nang (VNA) – Tourists destinations in the central coastal city of Da Nang have prepared a kaleidoscope of fascinating activities to attract visitors during the National Day holiday from August 31 to September 3, according to the municipal Department of Tourism.

Notable events include the Rong-Rao cultural and art exhibition from August 17 to September 8, a music festival and a drone show on August 24, and free film screenings from August 28 to 30.

The BRG Open Golf Championship Danang 2024 will take place at Legend Da Nang Golf Resort from August 29 to 31, drawing the participation of 144 top international and domestic golfers.

Meanwhile, a dragon boat race on September 2 is expected to draw huge crowds.

Sun Group Chairman Nguyen Van Binh said despite low travel season, the city’s lustre has been maintained with an array of events and shows, adding Sun Group is planning attractive festivals to serve tourists until the end of the year such as a beer festival, an autumn festival, a winter festival, a Halloween festival and a countdown festival at Sun World Ba Na Hills recreational complex.

As for the upcoming National Day holiday, the group’s "new entertainment district" Da Nang Downtown will host a string of art activities, including an international art show called “Symphony of River”, while Au O puppetry theatre features various traditional performances, he added.

The city will also offer visitors diverse culinary and shopping experiences. Its lodging facilities will also provide them with many good discount programmes.

Da Nang welcomed 2.5 million foreign tourist arrivals during January-July, up 34.7 % year-on-year, equivalent to the target set for the whole year. The number is projected to reach 3.5 million in 2024, equal to the pre-COVID-19 pandemic level./.
