Da Nang (VNA) - Fireworks displays, bustling night markets with Da Nang specialities and captivating shows are just some of the experiences awaiting visitors at Da Nang Downtown - the city’s trendy nightlife destination where visitors are surprised each time they return.

Officially rebranded from Asia Park and launched in June 2024, the "new entertainment district" Da Nang Downtown has become one of the most vibrant nightlife destinations for entertainment, shopping and dining in Da Nang.

Offering a wide range of exciting experiences that are constantly being refreshed, Da Nang Downtown has become the top name on the list of must-visit spots for anyone coming to Da Nang.

A nightly "light feast"

Symphony of River - a multi-sensory show combining artistic fireworks - is the highlight of the nightly "entertainment feast" at Da Nang Downtown. With nightly investments worth billions of VND and a runtime of 45 minutes, the show unfolds a dazzling and surreal space featuring over 100 international artists, including many renowned names, along with 20 world champion Jetski and Flyboard athletes.

A series of new firework effects have been added to the Symphony of River show since August

This show combines classical symphonic music, timeless songs, thrilling Flyboards and Jetski performances and mesmerising choreography on a floating stage by the river. Those who have witnessed the show will never forget the sight of the Han River "lit up" by mesmerising LED performances, the instant costume changes of the artist duo Minasov Victor and Minasov Elena, the artistic hand-balancing act on a Cello by young artist Artisiom Zhaunenka, or the breathtaking aerial dance of the Flyboard athletes.

Held at 8.30pm every day, the show's unique appeal lies in a seven-minute light feast featuring weekly-changing firework effects that visitors have never seen anywhere else. The artistic fireworks of Symphony of River are imported from China - the land known as the "magician" of fireworks with effects that are considered "magically transformative" in shape and colour.

From the grandstand with over 2,000 seats, visitors can marvel at new fireworks effects, including hearts, smiley faces, multi-coloured stars, wheat ears and giant planetary fireworks that instantly change colour.

These fireworks are considered even more spectacular and impressive than the displays by teams participating in the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF). Going beyond the bounds of an artistic performance, Symphony of River has turned Da Nang Downtown into an "entertainment sanctuary" that never sleeps, making visitors eager to return to witness the fairy-tale-like fireworks lighting up the Han River city’s sky.

Festive atmosphere

If Symphony of River is a "lavish main course," Da Nang Downtown also serves up a delightful buffet of entertainment options, including various shows happening in every corner. As soon as visitors step into the gates of this new entertainment district, they will be immersed in a festive atmosphere.

The "Night Adventure" show will greet visitors at the entrance, inviting them to "dance the night away" with international artists. Then, visitors will be led to the extreme sports show Awaken River, held daily at 5.45pm. Here, they can experience the thrill of watching world-class Jetski and Flyboard athletes perform while taking in the breathtaking beauty of a Han River sunset.

Alongside contemporary art, visitors will also experience the Roi Viet (Vietnamese Puppetry) show at Au O - the largest puppet theatre in central Vietnam, with performances at 6.30pm and 8.00pm.

Through the hands of puppet artists, visitors to Da Nang Downtown will be immersed in the flow of Vietnamese culture, conveyed through the rhythmic, graceful movements of eye-catching puppets, combined with traditional folk music arranged in a contemporary folk style.

Food tour experience

If you're planning a Da Nang food tour, check out the new “culinary hub” at Da Nang Downtown, called Vui Fest night market. With over 50 food stalls spread across 1,200 square metres, you can easily graze or eat your fill without running out of options.

According to many visitors, the must-try dishes at Vui Fest include mi Quang (Quang Nam style flat rice noodles), grilled pork noodles, cao lau (a Hoi An noodle dish with pork or beef), Thailand style sweet soup, nem lui (grilled meat roll), tre tron (a central Vietnam sour sausage salad) and banh bot loc (tapioca dumplings).

To fully savour the diverse culinary offerings at Vui Fest, arrive early to enjoy the food stalls before catching the Symphony of the River show, or opt for a buffet at a riverside restaurant within Da Nang Downtown, where you can dine while watching fireworks.

This is the ultimate experience at the city's newest entertainment district and is considered one of the top recommended experiences for a Da Nang food tour by food lovers.

Dinner with a fireworks view by the river

Located in Da Nang Downtown, the Panda restaurant might have the most captivating and exclusive view in Da Nang at night. Open daily from 6pm to 8pm and 8pm to 10pm, Panda is the perfect choice for diners to embark on a culinary journey through Vietnam.

From the restaurant's special riverside location, diners can admire the Sun Wheel, one of the world's top 10 tallest ferris wheels, and enjoy dinner while witnessing the stunning nightly fireworks displays with a view of Tran Thi Ly bridge.

Moreover, visitors can sip Sun Kraft Beer, a specially crafted beer produced at a craft brewery atop Ba Na Hills, brewed using secret recipes from Germany's famous beer regions, while capturing unique check-in photos with the light masterpieces on the river from the Symphony of River show.

With such vibrant experiences, Da Nang Downtown is turning Da Nang into a sleepless destination. If you think you've seen it all with the Dragon Bridge's fire-breathing show and a night-time stroll on My Khe beach, think again! Because if you haven’t been to Da Nang Downtown this summer, you’ve missed out on the most exciting nightlife spot in Da Nang!/.
