Activities to mark Day for AO/Dioxin Victims

Various activities are being held nationwide to mark the 54th anniversary of the Day for Agent Orange (AO)/Dioxin Victims in Vietnam (August 10) and the 68th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27).
Various activities are being held nationwide to mark the 54thanniversary of the Day for Agent Orange (AO)/Dioxin Victims in Vietnam(August 10) and the 68th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day(July 27).

Accordingly, the Vietnam Agent Orange/Dioxin VictimsAssociation (VAVA) has collaborated with a number of agencies to offermedical check-ups, medicines and gifts for the victims.

Besides, aparade scheduled for August 2 in Ho Chi Minh City is expected toattract 100,000 people, said Deputy Chairman of the associationLieutenant General Hoang Chau Son.

An one-month charitableprogramme to raise fund for the victims by sending messages will belaunched from early August by the VAVA and the Ministry of Informationand Communication, he added.

Over 120 billion VND (5.7 millionUSD) has been raised by organisations, businesses and individuals tosupport victims since the early this year, according to Son.-VNA

Vietnam, Japan strengthen cooperation in leadership training
