-President To Lam had a hybrid meeting with the Supreme People’s Court (SPC) and people’s courts nationwide on June 14, during which he demanded that the sector hasten judicial reform and build a modern and professional judicial system to help with forming a law-governed socialist State.
Reporting on the people’s court system’s performance, Deputy Chief Justice of the SPC Nguyen Tri Tue said that in recent years, the number of cases handled by courts has increased by about 8% annually, but the courts have continually made reforms and carried out many creative solutions to improve the settlement quality.Read full story
-Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has asked for greater efforts from ministries, sectors, and localities to realise the goal of completing 3,000 km of expressways nationwide by December 31, 2025.
Presiding over the 12th meeting of the State Steering Committee for National Key Transport Projects in Hanoi on June 14, the Government leader highlighted the goal set by the 13th National Party Congress that looks to build 3,000km of expressways by 2025 and 5,000km by 2030.Read full story
-Permanent Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Vu has officially announced Vietnam’s candidate to the position of Judge of the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS) for the 2026-2035 tenure - Associate Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Lan Anh, Director General of the East Sea Institute under the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam.
The candidate was introduced at the 34th meeting of States Parties to the UNCLOS (SPLOS-34) held in New York from June 10-14. Read full story
-Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Vu led a Vietnamese delegation to the celebration of the 125th anniversary of the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) held in The Hague on June 13.

-Thirty years after the blood donation movement was officially launched (January 24, 1994 - January 24, 2024), Vietnam has mobilised and received over 21.3 million units of blood, with the number of volunteer donators hitting 99%, according to the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion.
The number of blood units received increased from 138,000 in 1994 to 1.55 million in 2023, a 11-fold rise.Read full story
-The Lang Son provincial People’s Committee and the Vietnam Singapore Industrial Park and Township Development Joint Stock Company (VSIP JSC) on June 14 commenced the construction of VSIP Lang Son project – the 16th of its kind in Vietnam.
The VSIP Lang Son covers an area of nearly 600 ha in two communes of Ho Son and Hoa Thang in Huu Lung district. The project has a total investment of 6.361 trillion VND (nearly 250 million USD) with the investor VSIP JSC contributing over 954 billion VND.Read full story

-Police in Vinh city of the central province of Nghe An announced on June 14 that they have busted a transnational drug trafficking ring from Laos to Vietnam, detaining two suspects, and seizing over 20kg of drug and related evidence.
