– Malta-flagged cruise ship Mein Schiff 5docked in Quang Ninh province on March 6, carrying nearly 2,000 Europeanvisitors to the famous tourist destination in the north of Vietnam.

– The fifth session of the IntergovernmentalConference on an international legally binding instrument under the UnitedNations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) on the conservation andsustainable use of marine biological diversity of areas beyond nationaljurisdiction concluded in New York on March 5, with participants reaching anagreement on the instrument.
The Vietnamese delegation, led by Ambassador DangHoang Giang, Permanent Representative of Vietnam to the UN, made severalproposals on regulations related to the building of capacity and transfer ofmaritime technologies in the interests of developing countries, whileadvocating contents in line with the UNCLOS, protecting the rights and interestof Vietnam.Read full text
– Vietnam’s outbound investments reached 115.1million USD in the first two months of this year, 2.16 times higher than thatthe same period last year, according to the General Statistics Office (GSO)under the Ministry of Planning and Investment.
Of the sum, 109.4 million USD was poured into 10new projects, a 2.1-fold rise year-on-year. Meanwhile, four other projectsincreased their capital by nearly 5.7 million USD.Read full text

– An international transit terminal project inCan Gio district, Ho Chi Minh City, has been proposed to start in 2024 and haveits first phase put into use in 2027.
As the cargo volume handled at seaports in HCMCity is forecast to be 60 million tonnes higher than their capacity by 2030,the southern metropolis wants to accelerate the construction of this 5.3billion USD terminal, which is expected to create a breakthrough in sea-basedeconomic activities for not only the city but also the entire Vietnam,according to the Lao dong (Labour) daily.Read full text/.
