- Party General Secretary and State President To Lam on September 17 received Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam He Wei, who came to present his credentials to the top leader.

Lam expressed gratitude for the recent gestures of support from high-level Chinese leaders to Vietnam to recover from the severe impacts caused by Typhoon Yagi and subsequent floods. He also conveyed the condolences and sharing from the leaders of the Vietnamese Party and State to the Chinese leaders and people in the affected regions of China that have suffered from the recent historic storms. - General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee and State President To Lam hosted receptions for newly-accredited ambassadors from several countries who presented their credentials to the leader in Hanoi on September 17.

Receiving Sri Lankan Ambassador Poshitha Perera, Lam congratulated Sri Lanka for overcoming difficulties, maintain stability and achieving positive economic growth, making important contributions to stability in the region and the world. Read full story

- The Party Delegation of the National Assembly (NA) and the Party Civil Affairs Committee of the Government convened a meeting on September 17 to discuss preparations for the 15th NA’s 8th session scheduled to open next month.

Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Delegation of the NA, NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man, and Politburo member, Secretary of the Government’s Party Civil Affairs Committee, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh co-chaired the meeting. Read full story


- The import-export turnover between Vietnam and China reached nearly 130.8 billion USD in the first eight months of this year, according to the latest statistics from the General Department of Customs.

Of the figure, Vietnam’s export value was 38.28 billion USD, up 3.9% year-on-year. Read full story

- The Ministry of Planning and Investment recently presented to the Government two economic growth trajectories for 2025, with the highest rate forecast at 7.5%.

In the first scenario, the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) is predicted at 6.5-7%, and inflation rate at 4-4.5%, given the global situation staying complicated and unpredictable, the global economic growth remaining low, and the global macroeconomic environment facing numerous risks. As a result, the average economic expansion for the 2021-2025 period will be 5.8-6%. Read full story

- Vietnam will host the 2025 International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA) World Congress (FWC 2025), according to the Vietnam Logistics Business Association (VLA).

The hosting of the event has been approved by the Ministry of Industry and Trade with support from Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, it said. Read full story

- Vietnamese photographer Ho Trung Lam has won the Grand Prize at the ASEAN SX Photo Contest 2024 which was held in Bangkok in Thailand.
