Agencies, localities commended for DPRK-US Summit preparations

Agencies, organisations and localities which worked well in preparing for the summit between Chairman of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) Kim Jong-un and US President Donald Trump in Hanoi and the reception for the two leaders last month were commended at a conference in Hanoi on March 13.

Hanoi (VNA) - Agencies, organisations and localities which worked well inpreparing for the summit between Chairman of the Democratic People’s Republicof Korea (DPRK) Kim Jong-un and US President Donald Trump in Hanoi and the receptionfor the two leaders last month were commended at a conference in Hanoion March 13.

They include the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Public Security, Defence, Informationand Communications; the Government office; the People Committees of Hanoi, HaiPhong, Hai Duong, Lang Son, and Quang Ninh; and the National Convention Centre.

On the occasion, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc sent complement letters to theVietnam News Agency, Radio The Voice of Vietnam and the Vietnam Television fortheir efforts in popularising these important diplomatic events.

Speaking at the event, Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Communication and Education Vo VanThuong said information related to the summit, the second of its kind, and the visits by DPRK and US leaders to Vietnam was richly reflected in avariety of ways, meeting the requirement at home and abroad for information.

He appreciated the spirit and working attitude of domestic newsagencies, saying that the event offered a good chance for them to collect valuablelessons and learn from experience of foreign news agencies.

In hisspeech at the conference, Prime Minister Phuc praised outstanding efforts ofleaders and staff of the above-mentioned ministries, sectors and localities, affirmingthat great endeavour of relevant agencies, organisations, localities and individualsbrought about the success of the organization work for the summit and the reception for the leaders.

Thesuccess helps Vietnam improve its position, he said, adding that it also affirmedthe country’s huge contributions to the common work of the region and the world.

Thiswas a good preparation for Vietnam’s candidacy for a non-permanent member ofthe UN Security Council in the 2020-2021 tenure, and helped strengthen confidenceof overseas Vietnamese abroad in the leadership of the Party and State, the PMstressed.

Healso highly valued a number of units for their initiatives in organising the relatedevents, especially the Vietnam News Agency for arranging the “Vietnam-DPRK relations” photo exhibition.

He asked sectors and localities to fully tap opportunities brought bythe events to boost socio-economic development, promote the image of Vietnam’s nationand people and tourism potential, and attract investment.-VNA

Hanoi: 95% of administrative procedures to be handled from home

The plan targets that at least 80% of administrative procedures under the city’s authority will be provided as fully online public services, while more than 95% of applications will be received and processed entirely online. By June 30, 2026, about 80% of administrative procedures are expected to be restructured based on integrated data systems, with the figure rising to 95% by the end of the year.
