Agribank disburses 886.5 mn USD in credit to pandemic-hit borrowers

As of the end of June, the Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Agribank) had disbursed 20.56 trillion VND (886.5 million USD) in credit to over 9,000 customers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Hanoi (VNA) - As of the end of June, the Vietnam Bank for Agriculture andRural Development (Agribank) had disbursed 20.56 trillion VND (886.5 millionUSD) in credit to over 9,000 customers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The bankextended repayment deadlines for nearly 9,000 customers with loans totallingmore than 35 trillion VND and waived and slashed interest rates on a combined 8trillion VND for close to 1,000 borrowers.

As of theend of June, Agribank had total assets of over 1.46 quadrillion VND and totalequity of more than 1.35 quadrillion VND. Total outstanding loans andinvestment exceeded 1.33 quadrillion VND.

The bankaccounts for about half of all credit provided to the country’s agriculturesector./.

Phu Tho: 200kg bomb safely relocated, detonated

According to a report by the Phu Tho Military Command, local residents spotted the bomb on August 31 in the Da River after the river water receded, exposing it beneath mud and soil on the riverbed. The bomb remained intact, including its fuse, and was located about 300m from a residential area.

Shift to data-driven administrative procedures needs acceleration

Under a draft decree replacing Decree 63, authorities will have to proactively pull information from databases and records for informational or technical procedures.
