Agrotourism breathes fresh air to rural development

Agricultural and rural tourism has been considered a new direction, bringing fresh air to rural areas in Vietnam, according to experts.

The type of tourism is a new direction in line with the country’s strategy of agricultural economic development towards green agriculture.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Vietnam now has more than 1,300 tourist sites under the management of local administrations, about 70% of the sites are in rural areas.

They are considered an important resource to promote rural development, create jobs and incomes for people, promote rural economic restructuring, and preserve traditional cultural values.

The positive impacts of agricultural and rural tourism prove its effectiveness in the development of the household economy in particular, the rural economy, and agriculture in general.

However, according to Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan, synchronous solutions are needed to help the tourism sector reach sustainable values./.
