Algiers (VNA) – Vietnam and Algeria should promote bilateral cooperation,especially in economy, Algerian President Abdelkader Bensalah told VietnameseAmbassador to the country Pham Quoc Tru on May 16.

Welcoming thenewly-accredited ambassador, Bensalah said he hopes the diplomat will havepositive contributions to the two countries’ relations.

He agreed on thenecessity to increase delegation exchanges, perfect the legal framework tofacilitate bilateral collaboration, and enhance coordination and mutual supportat international forums.

Tru, who came topresent his credentials to the President, affirmed that Vietnam alwaystreasures and wishes to strengthen its traditional friendship and multifacetedcooperation with Algeria.

He pledged to do hisutmost to contribute to the Vietnam-Algeria friendship and cooperation in thetime ahead.-VNA
