Hanoi (VNA) – Vice Speaker of the Congress of the Federated States of Micronesia Esmond B. Moses said he hopes Vietnam and Micronesia will increase parliamentary delegation exchanges at all levels while meeting with Vice Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam Uong Chu Luu in Hanoi on January 19.
He suggested the two sides strengthen coordination at multilateral parliamentary forums such as the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and the Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF).
He recommended the two countries enhance cooperation in all fields for the sake of their people.
Vice Chairman Uong Chu Luu welcomed the guest to attend the ongoing APPF-26 in Hanoi, saying his participation will make significant contributions to the success of the event.
He hoped Vietnam and Micronesia will soon sign cooperation agreements or Memoranda of Understanding in the fields of their strengths.
The bilateral cooperation in economics, trade, investment, culture and tourism is expected to develop as their sound political ties, he said.
He took this occasion to thank Micronesia for providing Vietnam with 25,000 USD to address consequences caused by typhoon Haiyan in 2013.-VNA
