Hanoi (VNA) –
A suspect in the killings of two Vietnamese at the Circus Circus Casino hotel and casino in Las Vegas, the US, was arrested on June 7, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

FBI spokesperson Laura Eimiller said Julius Trotter was located in a home in Chino, California and was arrested after a car chase. The arrest came a day after police in Las Vegas said they were seeking a man in his late 20s with a tattoo just below the neckline, AP reported.

Lieutenant Ray Spencer from the Las Vegas Police said that the attack probably happened about the time someone reported hearing arguing in a room on the 21st floor of the hotel.

Security videos showed a man going to the top floor of the hotel just after 4 am on June 2 (US time) and 45 minutes later wearing a backpack that police said belonged to Nguyen Le Ba Khuong, one of the two victims.

Julius Trotter is being held at a jail in San Bernardino County. Last year, Trotter pleaded guilty in Las Vegas and was sentenced to five years of probation for felony resisting of a police officer with a weapon and reckless driving.

Investigation results showed the woman was Nghia Boi Sang, born in 1979, director of the Trieu Hao tourism company, and the man Nguyen Le Ba Khuong, born in 1988, a worker at Sang’s company.

The two came to Las Vegas with a Vietnamese tourist group, who were on a trip organised by their company.

The two bodies were found in their hotel room with multiple stab wounds on June 2.

The Vietnamese Embassy had sent a letter to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, asking for information on the case. The embassy also worked with the Vietnam Consulate General in San Francisco and Ho Chi Minh City Department of Home Affairs to assist the victims’ families in obtaining a US visa and in completing procedures to transfer the bodies to Vietnam.-VNA
