Nearly 14 billion VND was raised in support for people with disabilitiesand orphaned children at an artistic exchange themed “One Heart-OneWorld” which was held in Hanoi on April 14.
Theprogramme, the ninth of its kind, was co-organised by the Associationfor the Support of Vietnamese Handicapped and Orphans (ASVHO), theMinistry of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs, the VietnamTelevision and MediaMax JSC.
Speaking at the event,ASVHO President Nguyen Dinh Lieu said since the 8th programme lastyear, his association has collected 182 billion VND.
The money has been used to buy wheelchairs for the disabled and support orphaned children in 38 communes nationwide.
Besides the artists’ performance, the audience also had a chance totalk to disadvantaged people who have made every effort to overcomedifficulties and integrate into the community, as well as many activistswho have dedicated their life to helping the ill-fated people.-VNA
