The ASEAN Sustainable Development Symposium 2012 is taking place in Thailand ’s capital city of Bangkok on the theme of “Sustainable Development in a Challenging World”.
The three-day event, which opened in November 5, has drawn the participation of Thai Deputy Prime Minister Kittirat Naranong, Secretary-General of the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) Supachai Panitchpakdi and more than 1,000 CEOs from ASEAN countries’ businesses.
Participants are expected to draw out a direction for the success of the ASEAN business community and an agenda of action to realise programmes set during previous symposiums.
This symposium will highlight efforts to cooperate and share knowledge among the region’s leading CEOs in preparation for the establishment of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) in a near future.-VNA
