Jakarta (VNA) – Under the scorching sun of the hot season in Indonesia, long queues can be seen at stalls selling tickets to see competitions in the 2018 Asian Games (2018 ASIAD), which has been underway in Jakarta since August 13.

The stalls are located between Gate 5 and Gate 7 of Gelora Bungkarno stadium in the centre of Jakarta.

Febriano, a Jakarta resident, said he came to the stalls as his friend told him it was difficult to get tickets online. “I felt lucky to get tickets so that I can watch the action directly,” he said, adding that tickets for Taekwondo and basketball have run out, so he had to switch to Water Polo.

The Games’ organising board has announced that tickets can now also be bought on Blibli.com, a new addition to this website after fans complained about the problems they encounter when ordering tickets on the original ticket selling website kiostics.com.

People can also buy tickets to ASIAD competitions at stores of the Alfamart chain, which are everywhere in residential areas in Indonesia.

Holding two tickets in her hand, Yunning said she had bought tickets to watch badminton because she was a fan of the sport. She added that her child had some days off due to the Games, so they will watch some badminton matches together on August 23. “You know, there’s only one big sport event like this every four years, and it is a rare opportunity for us,” she said.

Tickets for ASIAD competitions are being sold on blibli.com during August 16 and 29. Ticket to a match can only be bought within three days before the date the match takes place.

Tickets to the closing ceremony of the Games are now available on blibli.com at a price of 450,000 rupiah (around 31 USD).-VNA
