Australia destroyed Vietnam 6 – 1 in a semi-final match of the ASEAN football Federation’s Futsal Championships on October 25.
Vietnam started the match with energy, but it was Australia who grabbed the early lead in the third minute when Daniel Fogarty slammed in the rebound off a freekick from Tobias Seeto.
Six minutes later, Australia were two goals up with an exquisite chip from Fernando de Moraes, before Adam Cooper (16th minute) and Gregory Giovenali (19th minute) made it 4 – 0 at half time.
Vietnam managed to pull a goal back from a power play when Tran Hoang Vinh scored in the 27th minute, but Australia put the game to bed with two more goals from Fogarty in the 35th and 36th minutes.
Vietnam will play Indonesia in the third-place play-off match on October 27. Australia will play Thailand in the final.-VNA
