Sydney (VNA) – Australian Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment Steven Ciobo on December 6 began his visit to Indonesia to boost negotiations for the Indonesia – Australia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IA-CEPA).
Ciobo will meet Indonesia officials and business leaders in Jakarta.
The minister affirmed that the deal will offer a framework for a new era of economic ties between two sides and provide opportunities for Australian exporters.
Indonesia has a population of more than 255 million people, including a middle class of 45 million. Therefore, the agreement will help Australian businesses supply goods and services to meet the growing needs of Indonesian consumers.
The administration of Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull is pursuing an ambitious trade agenda, including the IA – CEPA, to develop the economy and create more jobs.-VNA
