Hanoi (VNA) – The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has requested airports and airlines to enforce the regulation on electronic identification and authentication in the aviation sector.

The request was sent to the airports authorities of the northern, central and southern regions, the Airports Corporation of Vietnam, the Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation, and airlines on May 2.

The CAAV cited Clause 8 of Article 13 in the Government’s Decree No 59/2022/ND-CP, dated September 5, 2022, as stipulating that when a holder of an electronic identity (eID) uses a Level-2 eID account in electronic activities or transactions, the act has the same value as the presentation of papers or documents to prove the information integrated into that eID account.

Therefore, to ensure accuracy when citizens use Level-2 eID accounts in electronic activities or transactions to replace the papers or documents already integrated into eID accounts on its VNeID app, the Ministry of Public Security issued a document on April 11 to announce the app update and give guidance on how to check information on the app when handling administrative procedures.

Shortly after that, the Ministry of Transport also demanded agencies and units instruct officials, people, and relevant side to act accordingly.

Given this, the CAAV told the parties concerned to carry out the regulation./.
