Hanoi (VNA) - Winners of the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) Press Awards 2022 were announced at a ceremony held at the agency’s headquarters in Hanoi on April 14. The annual event is intended to honour outstanding works as well as the devotion by VNA journalists.
There were seven first prizes, 15 second prizes, 22 third prizes and 27 consolation prizes in different categories, along with seven extra prizes. The works gave insight into socio-economic-political affairs in Vietnam, as well as important events of the country last year, issues of public concern, and the friendship between Vietnam and other countries.
This year’s awards marked a milestone in the transformation of the VNA to catch up with development requirements of both domestic and global media, while contributing to maintaining and affirming its position as a leading media agency, which is looking towards a key national multi-media agency.
In her remarks, VNA General Director Vu Viet Trang lauded efforts and innovations by the winners to produce such quality works, helping affirm the VNA’s role in the domestic press circle and the award’s reputation.
VNA journalists have been present in all fronts, stood ready to come to natural disaster-hit areas, and accompanied ministries, agencies, localities and people in the enforcement of policies, she continued.
Trang expressed her hope that the journalists will make better performance in their work amid the new development period of the country and the world at large.
