Ha Giang (VNA) - A primary school built with funds from Azerbaijan’s Heydar Aliyev Foundation has been inaugurated in Giap Trung commune in the northern mountainous province of Ha Giang.
The financial assistance helped build two classrooms and two teachers’ room for the school which accommodates 98 primary and secondary school kids in the commune.
Emphasising the close historical ties between Azerbaijan and Vietnam, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Vietnam Anar Imanov said the building of the school reflected the importance of the relationship with Vietnam.
According to the ambassador, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, chaired by First Vice President of Azerbaijan Meriban Aliyeva has run many social projects in Azerbaijan and abroad. The school project is the first kind of its in Ha Giang.
Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Tran Quy Duc said with improved learning conditions, the teachers and students of the school can make full use of the facilities to better their studies and become good citizens.
Talented students can also take this opportunity to learn foreign languages to receive scholarships to continue their study in Azerbaijan, he said.-VNA
