Turbine No. 1 of the Ba Ha Hydroelectric Power Plant in central Phu Yen province officially generated electricity to the national grid on June 20, with a capacity of 110 MW.

The plant’s generation of power commences six months behind schedule due to problems in equipment supply by China ’s Dongfan Group, said Vo Van Tri, General Director of the Ba Ha Hydroelectric Power Company.

Turbine No. 2 is now under construction and expected to link to the national grid in September.

Once fully operational, the 4.23 trillion VND (242 million USD) project will supply a total of 825 million kWh, helping to ease the country’s worsening power shortages./.
