Hanoi (VNA) -
By 2030, the northern province of Bac Giang willbecome an industrial province with the GRDP ranked among 15 leading provincesand cities nationwide.

Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung signed Decision No. 139/QD-TTg approving theBac Giang master plan for 2021-2030, with a vision towards 2050.

The plan aims to uphold all potential, advantages, resources and human factorsto develop the province fast, comprehensively and sustainably.

By 2050, the province will turn into an industrial province of modern,comprehensive and sustainable development.

The plan heads to sustainable development in line with environmentalprotection, natural calamity prevention and responding to climate change, whichis suitable with the context of international integration and commitments inbilateral and multi-lateral conventions Vietnam has joined.

It also pays attention to ensuring social equality and affairs, focusing on thedevelopment of disadvantaged areas as well as distributing, exploiting andusing land and natural resources effectively.

In 2019, the province’s GRDP was estimated at 108,925 billion VND, or 4.7billion USD, up 19 percent./.

Vietnam Railways adds trains for upcoming holidays

As part of celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification, a special pair of trains, SE1 from Hanoi Station and SE4 from Sai Gon Station, named “Thong Nhat” (Reunification) will depart simultaneously in the evening of April 29. The two trains are scheduled to meet in Da Nang Station at noon on April 30.

Binh Thuan ramps up measures to combat IUU fishing

According to the Binh Thuan Department of Agriculture and Environment, the province has completed registration for all “three-no” fishing boats - vessels without registration, licences or monitoring systems - measuring six metres or more. About 2,710 such vessels have been registered, meeting 100% of the ministry’s requirements and 2,012 operational vessels have been fitted with VMS devices.
