Hanoi (VNA) – Relevant agencies of Vietnam, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Kuwait worked together to arrange a flight to carry nearly 280 Vietnamese citizens residing in the UAE and Kuwait back to Vietnam on October 29.
Passengers on the flight operated by Bamboo Airways included under-18 children, the elderly, pregnant women, those with illnesses, workers with expired labour contracts and others who are in difficult circumstances.
Staff members of the Vietnamese Embassy in the UAE were present at the Dubai airport to help citizens complete procedures to board the flight.
Safety and preventive measures against COVID-19 were rigorously enforced during the flight to protect passengers’ health and prevent the spread of diseases.
All passengers and crew members received medical checkups and were sent to quarantine in line with regulations upon arrival at Cam Ranh International Airport.
The repatriation of Vietnamese citizens in disadvantaged circumstances abroad will continue to be conducted in line with citizens’ wishes, the development of the COVID-19 pandemic and quarantine capacity in the country./.
