With a view to join the community in fighting COVID-19 pandemic, beauty queen 1st runner-up Kim Duyen and her friends give out free face masks at Children’s hospital and Maternity hospital in Can Tho city.
Beauty queen 1st runner-up Kim Duyen joins public efforts in fighting COVID-19 ảnh 1Nguyen Huynh Kim Duyen, born in 1995 in southern Can Tho city was crowned as first runner-up in the grand finale of Miss Universe Vietnam Pageant which was held in coastal central Khanh Hoa province’s Nha Trang city on December 8, 2019. She will be representing Vietnam in the 2021 edition of the Miss Universe pageant. Nguyen Huynh Kim Duyen is dedicated to charity works when she was at high school. Vietnam has been placing at Miss Universe pageant since last two consecutive years. While H’Hen Nie finished as a Top 5 finalist at Miss Universe 2018, Hoang Thuy emerged as Top 20 semi-finalist at the recently concluded Miss Universe pageant. (Photo: Vietnam+)

Kim Duyen says ‘Many people haven’t still grown a habit of wearing face masks in public places. It could adversely impact on not only their health but also that of others, especially given the pandemic spreading. According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), cases of acute pneumonia caused by novel corona virus were reported in Wuhan city of Hubei province, China. The first patient developed symptoms on December 12, 2019. There is no clear evidence of human-to-human transmission. Nguyen Huynh Kim Duyen will be representing Vietnam in the 2021 edition of the Miss Universe pageant. The 24-year-old girl stands 173 cm tall and graduated in Business Administration from Stamford Raffles University, Singapore. During her stint at Miss Universe Vietnam 2019, Kim Duyen impressed everyone with the answer ‘I believe that Miss Universe Vietnam 2019 is looking for a girl who is not only beautiful, smart but also brave, with heart. She was highly appreciated for her performance at the competition but she couldn’t win the title. The diva returned to Vietnam in 2019 and focused on improving her skills, taking part in a program to train herself for the future pageant. She focused on preparing herself for the competition and took parts in regional beauty pageants and that pushed her to participate in the upcoming beauty pageants like the Miss Universe Vietnam 2019. The virus that causes COVID-19 is mainly transmitted through droplets generated when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or exhales. These droplets are too heavy to hang in the air, and quickly fall on floors or surfaces. A person can be infected by breathing in the virus if you are within close proximity of someone who has COVID-19, or by touching a contaminated surface and then your eyes, nose or mouth. The Ministry of Health required localities nationwide to strictly take quarantine measures against suspected novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases and those returning from disease-hit areas or contacting with patients, in effort to control the spreading of the outbreak. A national steering committee for prevention and control of the acute respiratory disease caused by a new coronavirus (nCoV) was set up under the Prime Minister’s decision. The committee is headed by Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam, while Deputy Ministers of Health Do Xuan Tuyen and Nguyen Truong Son work as its deputy heads. (Photo: Vietnam+)
