Hanoi, May 25 (VNA) – The Tourism Development Committee ofChina’s Beijing city organised a tourism promotion programme in Hanoi on May24.

At the event, the committee introduced the Chinese capitalcity’s tourism potential, as well as new tourist sites and attractive productsto draw more Vietnamese visitors.

A committee representative said that Vietnam and Hanoi inparticular are important markets for Beijing’s tourism sector.

Deputy head of the Vietnam National Administration ofTourism Ngo Hoai Chung said that Vietnam will continue facilitating cooperationbetween the two countries’ travel agencies, with the focus on the Beijingmarket.

China led in the number of tourists to Vietnam with 2.7million in 2016, a year-on-year rise of 51 percent, while Vietnam led in ASEANin the volume of visitors to China with 2.2 million.-VNA
