The French Casino Group has expanded its supermarket business in Vietnam by opening another branch of Big C in Hue City in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue, at a cost of over 300 billion VND (16.7 million USD).

Its five-storey building has also leased the ground floor to international and domestic giants such as Revlon, Takasima and the ACB Bank.

The first and the second floors are reserved for the modern supermarket where 40,000 foods and other products are available, 95 percent of them made in Vietnam , of which 25 percent are local products.

Big C Hue is located in the centre of the former imperial city and is an ideal place for diners who are interested in famous local dishes that were once a favourite of the old royal families. These dishes are served alongside international recipes.

After the first one opened in Bien Hoa town in southern Dong Nai province in 1998, Big C expanded to eight other locations across the country.

Big C Vietnam employs 3,000 workers not only in the supermarkets but also at a meat-processing workshop and in its export division.
