Binh Dinh (VNA) – The south central province of Binh Dinh is set to stage the 2024 Teqball World Series for the first time in Asia from June 6-9, heard a local press conference held on June 5.
The tournament, co-hosted by the International Teqball Federation (FITEQ), Saigon Sports Investment Co. Ltd, the provincial People's Committee, and the provincial Department of Culture and Sports, draws a total of 115 athletes from 52 countries.
The competition schedule is jam-packed with 124 qualifying matches. Fans can expect to see 40 mixed doubles matches on June 6, followed by 48 men's singles matches on June 7, 36 men's doubles matches on June 8, culminating in the final showdown on June 9.
Teqball is a ball sport that combines football and table tennis and is played on a curved table. Back and forth, players hit the ball with any part of their body, except arms and hands. Teqball can be played between two players as a singles game or between four players as a doubles game.
Originated in Hungary in 2014, Teqball has witnessed remarkable global expansion, The FITEQ currently boasts more than 150 national federations and over 4,000 clubs over the world.
