Hanoi (VNA) – The 15th National Assembly on May 20 elected Tran Thanh Man, Politburo member and Permanent Vice Chairman of the 15th NA, as Chairman of the NA of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

The following is the biography of Tran Thanh Man:

- Date of birth: August 12, 1962

- Ethnicity: Kinh

- Native place: Thanh Xuan commune, Chau Thanh A district, Hau Giang province

- Family background: middle peasant

- Occupation when recruited: Student

- Education: General education: 12-year education system graduation.
