Hanoi (VNA) – The 15th National Assembly on May 20 elected Tran Thanh Man, Politburo member and Permanent Vice Chairman of the 15th NA, as Chairman of the NA of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

The following is the biography of Tran Thanh Man:

- Date of birth: August 12, 1962

- Ethnicity: Kinh

- Native place: Thanh Xuan commune, Chau Thanh A district, Hau Giang province

- Family background: middle peasant

- Occupation when recruited: Student

- Date of Party admission: August 25, 1982

- Date of official admission to the Party: August 25, 1983

- Education: General education: 12-year education system graduation.

Highest Academic title, degree: PhD in Economics.

Political Theory: Bachelor's degree in Politics.

Vietnam, Côte d'Ivoire strengthen parliamentary, economic ties

On parliamentary cooperation, the top Vietnamese legislator called for increased the exchange of high-level delegations and closer collaboration between the two legislatures, including sharing legislative experience and strengthening ties between their respective committees.

Vietnam’s National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan emphasised that economic, trade, and investment ties should serve as key pillars of the relationship.
