Beijing (VNA) – The Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) Annual Conference 2017 is taking place in Boao town of China’s Hainan province from March 23-26 under the theme “Globalisation and Free Trade: The Asian Perspective”.
This year’s event attracts 1,727 delegates who are politicians, businesspersons, scholars and reporters from 50 countries and regions, according to the forum’s secretariat.
World leaders to the event include the Madagascar President, the Micronesian President, the Nepalese Prime Minister, and the Myanmar Vice President.
China’s Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli is scheduled to deliver a keynote speech at the opening ceremony on March 25.
Some other Chinese representatives are Governor of the People’s Bank of China Zhou Xiaochuan, Chief Executive of Hong Kong Leung Chun-ying, and President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank Jin Liqun.
With 42 sub-forums and 12 closed discussions, the forum will focus on such issues as globalisation, economic growth, reforms, regional cooperation, macro economy, political security, social welfare, and the “One Belt, One Road” initiative.
