Border guards commended for seizing big haul of drug

The Vietnam Border Guard High Command on May 9 commended the drug and crime control department of the border guard force and border guards from the central province of Ha Tinh for seizing a big haul of drugs smuggled from Laos to Vietnam.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnam Border Guard High Command on May 9 commended the drug and crime control department of the border guard force and border guards from the central province of Ha Tinh for seizing a big haul of drugs smuggled from Laos to Vietnam.

On May 6, the local border guards caught red-handed six Lao nationals transporting 121 kg of synthetic drugs from Laos in a car with a Lao license plate at the Cau Treo International Border Gate area in Son Kim 1 commune, Huong Son district, Ha Tinh province.

One day later, at the Cau Treo International Border Gate, they coordinated with local customs officers to arrest two people, both residing in Nghi Loc district, Nghe An province, who were found keeping 12,000 synthetic drug pills in a car with a Lao license plate.

At the same border gate, the forces on May 9 seized two Lao nationals, along with 45,000 synthetic drug pills, 30 heroin bricks, 21 kg of Ketamine, and 20 kg of synthetic drugs./.
