Bourses boosted by strong earnings

On the HCM Stock Exchange, the benchmark VN-Index rose over 2.46percent to 479.6 points as over half of component shares increased.

Total trading value remained high at 1.63 trillion VND (77.6 millionUSD), climbing 25.4 percent over January 25’s session on a volume of107.35 million shares.

The VN30, tracking the city's 30 leadingshares in terms of capitalisation and liquidity, grew 2.8 percent to562.60 points.

Among the blue chips, 22 added value, butPetroVietnam Finance (PVF) plunged to its floor price and newcomerCasumina (CSM) and infrastructure company Becamex tumbled.

Onthe Hanoi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index gained nearly 1.5 percent overJanuary 25’s session close to reach 62.52 points.

Advancers outnumbered decliners by 149-82.

Around 95.7 million shares changed hands, totalling a combined tradingvalue of 745.3 billion VND (35.4 million USD), rising 37.7 percent.

The HNX30 also put on 2.7 percent to finish at 121.96 points.-VNA
