Bridge opens to traffic in Kien Giang province

The February 3 Bridge opening ceremony was held in the Mekong Delta’s Rach Gia city on April 30 with the participation of Politburo member Le Hong Anh, leaders and people of southern Kien Giang province.

The four-lane bridge, spanning Kinh Nhanh river, is 325 metres long and 18 metres wide. It is built at a cost of more than 356 billion VND (16.7 million USD) from the local budget.

The bridge especially benefits local people at sea-encroached urban area of Rach Gia city and the 16-hectare Hoa Bien urban area.

In addition to reduce traffic jam in the city, the bridge is expected to help boost the province’s socio-economic development as it links with the coastal road system of the Mekong Delta region.-VNA
