The remains of 17 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who lost their lives in the neighbouring Laos and Cambodia during wartime were laid to rest at a cemetery in Ngoc Hoi district of the Central Highlands province of Kon Tum on May 15.
A team specialising in the search for those remains of the provincial Military Command found them in a campaign during the 2013-2014 dry season. Fifteen were uncovered in Cambodia’s Rattanakiri province, while the remainder in Laos’s Champassak and Attapeu provinces.
The same day, a solemn ceremony was held at a local cemetery in the central province of Quang Tri to bury the remains of 11 Vietnamese war heroes who died in Laos’s Savannakhet province during wars against France and America.-VNA
