Quang Ninh (VNA) – The Cam Pha Port & Logistics Company and Cua Ong Coal Sorting Company under the Vietnam National Coal-Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin) loaded the first tonnes of coal onto two vessels – the first New Year footers in Cam Phan port, the northern province of Quang Ninh on February 16 (the first day of the Lunar New Year).
Accordingly, Yun Qian vessel received 8,000 tonnes of coal dust for export to Malaysia while Viet Thuan vessel handled 24,000 tonnes which is to be delivered to Vinh Tan 2 thermal power plant.
Since early 2018, the Cam Pha Port & Logistics Company has consumed more than 1.568 million tonnes of coal, 1.5 million of which has been for export and the remaining for domestic consumption.
Last year, Vinacomin tapped 35 million tonnes of coal and sold 35.6 million tonnes.
This year, it will strive to sell nearly 36 million tonnes, including 1.9 million tonnes for export, 400,000 tonnes higher than 2017.-VNA
