The Ministry of Transport has given the nod to the central province of Ninh Thuan to build an expressway linking Phan Rang-Thap Cham city and the Cam Ranh International Airport in neighbouring Khanh Hoa province.
Vice Chairman of the Ninh Thuan provincial People’s Committee Tran Xuan Hoa said on June 14 that the 50-km expressway will be built at a cost of 2 trillion VND (over 105 million USD) sourced from the State budget.
Work on the expressway will start next year and is expected to be completed in 2012 or 2013. Once it becomes operational, travelling time from Cam Ranh to Phan Rang-Thap Cham will shorten by half.
The government has also given Ninh Thuan province the green light to build a 116-km coastal road serving the development of its marine economy and tourism./.
