Cambodia currently has over 11,370 schools of all kind across the country, Minister of Education, Youth and Sports Im Sethy has said.
Of the figure, there are 2,813 kindergartens, 6,910 primary schools, 1,214 secondary schools and 433 high schools, Im Sethy was quoted by AKP as saying at the ministry’s annual meeting to review its works in 2011-2012 and put forth new goals for 2012-2013 on March 18.
The country has a total of 101 higher educational institutions, including 39 State institutions, the Minister said.
He added that as of December 31, 2012, some 3,518 school buildings with 18,256 classrooms have been built, affirming that school buildings will be in place all over the country, particularly along the border and remote areas.-VNA
