Cambodia sets up three border-related committees

Phnom Penh (VNA) – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen has approved a decision to establish three committees on land border demarcation and landmark planting with Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia.

Under the decision signed on December 17, Var Kim Hong, Senior Minister and Chairman of Cambodia’s National Border Committee, is the head of the three committees. His deputies at the committees are Long Visalo, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs , and Neang Phat, Secretary of State at the Defence Ministry.

The committee on land b order demarcation and landmark planting with Vietnam consists of 33 members while those with Thailand and Laos have 30 and 25 members, respectively.

The new committees are responsible for studying, surveying, negotiating and addressing issues related to land b order demarcation and landmark planting between Cambodia with the neighbouring countries.-VNA
